This application uses a Color Sensor that detects up to four colors.
The line-up includes two types of Color Sensor that can distinguish colors of trays: a Fiber Sensors that you can simply operate with a teaching function and Sensors with a Built-in Amplifier. Sensors are also available with either of two types of outputs: ON and OFF outputs that can distinguish four colors or RGB analog outputs.
Know-How
You could not detect all the colors of register marks with a conventional mark sensor that used a single light source LED. Also, conventional sensors did not provide stable detection of workpieces that fluctuate up and down within the rated sensing range.
Benefit / Efficiency
RGB signal processing enables discriminating all colors.
The use of an algorithm that detects the ratio of RGB light intensity ensures resistance to fluctuations in the workpieces within the rated sensing range.
