Automated Traceability for Lens Modules

Compact ID Tags enable management of production lots for lens modules.

The user installs an ID Tag on a special pallet that carries lens modules. On the ID Tag, the system writes the product data lot, pallet position data, process work instructions, process completion flags, and next process instruction data.
In each process, the RFID Antenna on the equipment reads the ID Tag data, and processing and inspection is performed based on the data. In the inspection process, the system writes data on whether the product passes inspection.
In the final process, the system reads all the data in the ID Tag and stores the data in the host as lot management data.
In post-washing in the final process, the system totals the number of times that processes used the special pallet to perform service life management.

Know-How

The washing process comes once per cycle, and so operation requires RFID, which has superior environmental resistance. There is no space on the pallet, so a compact ID Tag (8 mm in diameter and 5 mm in height) is necessary. Space is also limited in the equipment, and so we use a compact Antenna.

Benefit / Efficiency

You can check the models and specifications of lens modules that move in a special pallet of an automated line. You can discriminate between many products for specific customers, such as products with high added value and high-volume products. You can obtain data from each process to understand the lens characteristics and factors.
